About The Position

The Host position at 980 Prime is responsible for extending a warm greeting to guests, managing guest flow through reservations and seating, and ensuring a positive dining experience. This role involves maintaining the cleanliness of the front-of-house, communicating effectively with servers and kitchen staff, and addressing guest needs and concerns. The Host must be knowledgeable about the menu and promotions, assist with reservations and waitlists, and collaborate with the team to deliver exceptional customer service. Key duties include optimizing table turnover, maintaining a professional appearance, upholding cleanliness and hygiene standards, and ensuring regular and reliable attendance. The role also requires compliance with safety, health, and gaming regulations, completing sidework, and maintaining awareness of restaurant operations.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage high-volume situations efficiently.
  • Ability to remain composed and composed under pressure, ensuring excellent service even during busy periods.
  • Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
  • A positive and friendly demeanor.
  • Flexibility in terms of working evenings, weekends, and holidays, adhering to the restaurant's schedule.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) or more years in a customer service role, preferably within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with both guests and fellow team members.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred two (2) or more years of recent and related experience performing as a host/hostess, preferably within a hospitality, restaurant or gaming environment.
  • Familiarity with restaurant operations and reservation systems is advantageous.
  • Successful completion of Bloodborne Pathogens and hazardous material training is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Extend a warm greeting to restaurant guests upon their arrival, accompanied by a genuine smile and a positive attitude.
  • Manage the guest flow by handling reservations, assigning tables, and ensuring efficient seating arrangements.
  • Calculate and provide accurate wait times, and keep guests informed about their table status.
  • Escort guests to their designated tables, present menus, and assist with seating preferences, accommodating special seating requests when feasible.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the FOH area, including the host station and waiting area.
  • Foster communication with both servers and kitchen staff to ensure a smooth, coordinated, and equitable seating process.
  • Engage with guests, anticipate their needs, and respond promptly to inquiries or concerns.
  • Be well-versed in the menu, daily specials, and restaurant promotions to provide accurate information to guests.
  • Address guest complaints or issues professionally or escalate them to the manager when necessary.
  • Assist in managing reservations and overseeing the waitlist.
  • Collaborate closely with the restaurant team to deliver exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
  • Monitor and optimize table turnover for smooth and efficient service.
  • Maintain a professional and polished appearance, adhering to the restaurant's grooming and dress code standards.
  • Uphold rigorous standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the restaurant.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is a fundamental requirement of this position.
  • Wear and maintain all uniforms properly, including nametag.
  • Must wear a gaming license if in possession of one.
  • Perform all duties in compliance with safety standards, health standards, the Colorado Limited Gaming Act, and internal policies and procedures.
  • Comply with established security policies and procedures.
  • Complete sidework, balance drawer at shift end, and assist bussing tables as needed.
  • Maintain alertness for the performance of duties and a general awareness of restaurant operations at all times.
  • Keep the supervisor informed of any concerns.
  • Perform other duties, including special projects, as needed and directed.
