About The Position

Rioz Myrtle Beach is now hiring an Host. The Homegrown Hospitality Group is looking for an Host to positively represent Homegrown Hospitality Group as a first point of contact for Guests. This role is responsible for ensuring Guests are seated in a timely matter, and that all Guest needs are managed with a sense of urgency in a friendly and helpful manner. The Homegrown Hospitality Group consists of 9 different business concepts and over 15 locations located throughout South Carolina in Charleston, Columbia, and Myrtle Beach. Multiple concepts, multiple locations, one big family!

Requirements

  • Minimum age of 16 years old
  • Prior experience in restaurant or customer service role
  • Superior customer service and hospitality skills
  • Knowledgeable of proper sanitation, food safety, and security procedures
  • Knowledgeable of Homegrown Hospitality Group’s food and beverage menus and ability to make suggestions to Guests to increase ticket sales
  • Knowledgeable of current marketing promotions and up-coming events to proactively inform guests
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills in order to serve Guests
  • Skilled in time management and organization with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to take direction and execute team and company objectives
  • Basic mathematical skills and the ability to handle money accurately
  • Basic knowledge of Point of Sales systems
  • Conflict management skills, analytical skills, and high degree of emotional intelligence in order to recognize and solve problems that come with the position
  • Ability to follow specific service time and guidelines while at the same time engaging guests & customizing their experience
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of pace and intensity for an extended period of time
  • Must be reliable and dependable by adhering to a schedule, covering shifts when necessary, and being on time for scheduled shifts
  • Work as a contributing member of a team and communicate with management, kitchen staff, and serving staff to ensure effective customer flow
  • Maintain positive working relationships with all Team Members and managers

Responsibilities

  • Provide warm welcome to incoming guests by opening the door and ensuring timely seating
  • Accurately communicate waiting times to Guests and maintain timely communication to ensure Guests are kept informed in regard to their seating status
  • Manage seating waitlist, seat guests in appropriate area to ensure they are comfortable and that a particular server does not have too many tables to ensure quality Guest experience
  • Notify Guests of specials and promotions and that their server will be with them promptly, and notify server of new Guests
  • Assist with the assembling of takeout orders and assist in answering telephones when necessary
  • Assist Servers with running food and bussing table, but does not serve alcohol if under the age of 21 and not certified in Alcohol Safety
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of host station, ensuring all menus are properly stocked and clean, restock supplies as necessary
  • Anticipate and respond to customer concerns and / or complaints and bring any issues to the attention of the manager with a sense of urgency
  • Thank Guests as the leave and solicit feedback about the quality of service their personal experience; invite Guests to return in the future
  • Assist Front of House Team Members
  • Bus and pre-bus tables and deliver food to Guests when necessary, help reset tables
  • Answer phone, take reservations and takeout orders as required per location
  • Count and balance drawer at the beginning and end of the shift
  • Help clean the restaurant at the end of shift to prepare it for next shift or day
