Max’s Oyster Bar, located in the heart of West Hartford Center, is seeking an enthusiastic, polished, and professional Host with open availability to join our team. Requirements

• Prior experience as a Host REQUIRED
• Experience in a guest-facing role in a fine-dining or upscale-casual restaurant is strongly preferred
• Strong communication skills with a polished phone manner
• Engaging, friendly personality with a passion for delivering excellent service
• Ability to manage time effectively and stay organized in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
• A positive outlook and a team-player attitude with a commitment to excellence in service
• Ability to work well under pressure, balancing guest needs and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere
• Professional demeanor and the ability to engage with guests in a courteous and respectful manner

Nice To Haves

• Experience with OpenTable is a PLUS
• Previous experience in handling reservations and assisting with event coordination is a bonus

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the activities of the dining room to ensure smooth, fast, and courteous service for guests
• Manage dining room reservations and assist in arranging parties or special events
• Provide special services for diners celebrating special occasions
• Assist with to-go orders, ensuring accuracy, organization, and timely execution
• Collaborate with the management team to assist with special event duties, act as a training resource, and take on ad hoc tasks as needed
• Greet and welcome guests as they arrive, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere
• Assist guests with their needs, ensuring they have an outstanding dining experience from start to finish
• Ensure the dining room is neat, clean, and organized, providing a professional environment for guests and staff alike
