About The Position

As a Host at Kevin's Bistro, you are the first and last point of contact for our guests. You are responsible for creating a welcoming and organized guest experience by managing seating arrangements, waitlists, and communicating effectively with the Front of House and Kitchen teams. Your warm demeanor and efficiency play a key role in upholding Stella’s commitment to hospitality and service excellence.

Requirements

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with the team and guests. This include both verbal and written communication and active listening to understand and respond to instructions and requests.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Professional appearance and positive attitude
Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure
Flexible availability to work a variety of shifts including days and evenings. Weekends are mandatory.
Demonstrate a strong ability to work in a team-oriented environment

Previous customer service or hospitality experience

Responsibilities

Greet guests promptly with a warm and friendly demeanor
Manage seating chart and waitlist in an organized and efficient manner
Answer incoming phone calls politely and professionally, providing information about menu items and hours of operation.
Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen and management team to ensure smooth service flow.
Provide kitchen with regular updates of the current seating flow (menu counts)
Provide support to the Front of House team in bussing tables, running food, and refilling drinks.
Maintain cleanliness and appearance of the entrance, guest waiting areas and menus’
Provide guests with menus, explain daily features or wait times when necessary
Follow all takeout and cash handling procedures when completing take away orders, ensuring all cash is accounted for
Handle guest concerns or direct them to the appropriate manager when necessary
Regular maintenance of bathrooms
Thank guests as they leave the restaurants
Uphold Stella’s service standards and values at all times
Adhere to Manitoba Food Safe requirements
