About The Position

The Host serves as the first point of contact for restaurant guests and plays a critical role in creating a welcoming and organized dining experience. This position is responsible for managing guest flow, coordinating seating, and supporting front-of-house operations. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a warm and professional demeanor.

Requirements

Previous front-of-house restaurant experience preferred (1–2 years)
Strong communication and guest service skills
Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
Professional demeanor and positive attitude
Ability to make quick decisions and adapt to changing service conditions
Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 30 lbs

Nice To Haves

Experience using POS or reservation systems (Toast or similar)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Responsibilities

Greet all guests warmly and provide a positive first impression of the restaurant
Manage and update reservations using the Toast POS system
Coordinate guest seating and manage wait times effectively
Control guest flow and communicate with the kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth operations
Provide accurate information about menus, dining options, and the restaurant
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entry area
Reset tables and assist with bussing as needed
Support servers and team members during peak service times
Collaborate with the manager on duty to maintain efficient service flow
Assist with updating menus and maintaining presentation materials
