About The Position

The Host position is about ensuring the guest dining experience, as a whole, is enjoyable, well-timed, and pleasant. This role is responsible for taking reservations, greeting and seating guests, and thanking guests as they depart. Additional duties include answering phones, pulling out chairs, seating guests, providing menus, and performing opening and closing side work such as cleaning, stocking, and setting up the host stand for the next shift.

Responsibilities

• Take reservations
• Greet and seat guests
• Thank guests as they depart
• Assign tables pre-shift and provide servers with appropriate chits
• Answer phones throughout the shift and direct calls to appropriate personnel
• Pull out chairs and seat guests
• Provide menus once guests are seated
• Perform opening and closing side work, including cleaning, stocking, and setting up the host stand
