About The Position

The Apex Grille at M1 Concourse's X Center is looking for an experienced, engaging host for its opening team. The ideal candidate understands that great hospitality starts the moment a guest walks through the door. Responsibilities include welcoming guests warmly, managing reservations and seating, communicating wait times, and helping to ensure the dining room flows smoothly. This role involves close collaboration with servers, managers, and the culinary team to ensure every guest feels seen and taken care of. Upscale-casual, polished-casual, or high-volume restaurant experience is preferred. The company is seeking hospitality professionals with personality, awareness, professionalism, and genuine warmth. Responsibilities

  • Create a warm, welcoming first impression.
  • Manage guest arrival, reservations, wait times, and seating.
  • Ensure overall dining-room flow.
  • Serve as the first and final point of contact for guests.
  • Ensure each person feels acknowledged, expected, and genuinely cared for from arrival through departure.
  • Maintain clear communication with Servers, Bartenders, culinary personnel, and management to support balanced seating, efficient service, and a premium hospitality experience.
  • Represent M1 Concourse with the highest level of professionalism, warmth, and decorum.
  • Accurately record reservation details, contact information, party size, special requests, and other required information.
  • Adjust seating decisions based on party size, table availability, reservations, service capacity, accessibility needs, and management direction.
  • Answer telephone calls and respond to reservation inquiries, operating questions, and general guest requests professionally.
  • Assist with accommodating large parties, private events, terrace dining, and special functions.
  • Assist with table resets, menu preparation, light service support, and other reasonable restaurant responsibilities when host coverage and guest flow permit.
  • Communicate seating activity, large-party arrivals, delays, guest concerns, and changing dining-room conditions to management and affected Team Members.
  • Confirm reservations and gather the information necessary to accommodate walk-in guests accurately.
  • Coordinate with culinary and restaurant leadership when seating pace must be adjusted to protect service quality.
  • Coordinate with Servers, Bussers, Food Runners, and management to confirm table availability and readiness.
  • Develop and follow seating rotations designed to balance Server workloads and support efficient kitchen and bar execution.
  • Ensure menus are clean, current, complete, and presented in good condition.
  • Ensure tables are properly cleaned, reset, and ready before seating guests.
  • Escort guests to their assigned tables confidently and at an appropriate pace.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming host stand, entrance, waiting area, and menu-storage area.
  • Maintain appropriate communication with waiting guests and offer available alternatives when delays occur.
  • Maintain awareness of table status, including seated, ordering, dining, check-presented, departing, and resetting stages.
  • Maintain compliance with M1 Concourse policies, Apex Grille procedures, and applicable guest-service, sanitation, privacy, and safety requirements.
  • Manage reservations, guest profiles, seating assignments, and waitlists using the designated reservation or restaurant-management system.
  • Monitor the entrance, waiting area, and dining room and respond proactively to guest needs.
  • Present menus and provide a polished introduction to the restaurant, assigned Server, and relevant dining information.
  • Provide realistic and accurate wait-time estimates and keep waiting guests informed of changes or delays.
  • Recognize returning guests when possible and use available guest information to personalize the experience appropriately.
  • Respond professionally to guest concerns and promptly involve management when additional assistance is required.
  • Review reservation notes and communicate special occasions, accessibility requests, seating preferences, and other relevant guest information.
  • Support guests with accessibility needs and coordinate appropriate seating or assistance.
  • Thank departing guests sincerely, invite them to return, and communicate relevant feedback to management.
  • Welcome and acknowledge each arriving guest promptly with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality.
  • Perform all other duties as may be required and assigned.
