About The Position

The Host provides a quality recreational experience for visitors in areas operated by the Company and performs nearly all operational tasks within an assigned campground or area. The position may be filled by two people or, in some locations, by an individual. Hosts provide customer service and information about recreation-area rules, register campers, collect fees, sell certain retail items, perform basic recordkeeping, and maintain campground facilities and grounds. This is a 2027 seasonal position in the Salt Lake District.

Requirements

• Strong customer service skills and enjoyment of extensive public contact.
• Basic manual labor abilities and willingness to clean and sanitize facilities using a variety of cleaning agents and chemicals.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic recordkeeping experience, including money handling.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, learn quickly, and follow instructions accurately.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including regular evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lift 20 pounds frequently.
• Ability to move safely over rough and uneven terrain.
• Ability to work in extreme weather.
• Ability to tow one's own RV into and out of campgrounds in emergency situations, where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous, helpful customer service and educate visitors about recreation-area rules and regulations.
• Perform basic administrative tasks, including recordkeeping and fee collection.
• Maintain facilities and grounds, including cleaning, sanitizing, and stocking restrooms; emptying trash and replacing liners; and cleaning roadways, trails, campsites, picnic tables, fire rings, and grills.
• Dispose of ashes; rake and groom sites and public areas; pick up litter and micro-trash; and maintain outlying areas such as trails, outposts, and rental cabins.
• Maintain good working relationships with fellow employees, governmental agency representatives, and visitors.
• Register campers, collect fees, and sell certain retail items such as firewood, ice, and concession goods.
• Process revenue and fee-collection data using Company-approved forms and procedures.
• Become familiar with local points of interest, nearby facilities, and local rules and regulations.
• Report problems and unsafe or hazardous conditions when discovered.
