About The Position

The Host/Hostess greets customers upon arrival, seats them, and develops positive relations with customers and staff. This role requires performing duties in compliance with safety standards, health standards, and the Colorado Limited Gaming Act.

Requirements

  • Demonstrates hands-on hospitality, hosting, or serving experience, preferably within a gaming environment.
  • Demonstrates performing within specific deadlines or under pressure.
  • Demonstrates experience with problem-solving, organizing, and prioritizing work.
  • Must be familiar with making change.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions.
  • Greet customers, inquire about party size, determine table availability, and escort customers to tables.
  • Offer menus or advise about the buffet, and manage waitlists if a line occurs.
  • Ensure tables are clean and set for customers.
  • Notify wait staff when customers are seated in their section.
  • Assist in serving food and beverages to customers and staff as needed.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and attitude, representing the Food and Beverage Department.
  • Develop and maintain positive relations with customers and staff.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as directed by a supervisor.
  • Pre-bus tables by picking up dishes on the way back to the kitchen (full hands out-full hands in).
  • Maintain the upkeep of the front of the house, including the dessert case, rolling silverware, cleaning mirrors, and organizing the host station.
  • Take out trash at the end of the shift.
  • Close out tickets properly in Micros and keep the cash drawer even.
  • Monitor customers leaving the restaurant and ensure payment for services rendered.
  • Notify the Food and Beverage Supervisor or Manager and the key on duty if a customer walks out.
  • Report any problems observed or heard to the duty manager or supervisor.
  • Alert supervisor of concerns regarding food and beverage quality, selection, and variety.
  • Comply with established security policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of all Lombard's and Deli food and beverage outlets and products, and answer customer questions.
  • Communicate and maintain performance standards for customer interaction, anticipating and reducing complaints.
  • Communicate and cooperate with other departments for guest satisfaction.
  • Act as a team player and perform duties as part of a team.
  • Assist in training new employees to ensure proper customer service.
  • Understand and comply with Colorado Gaming ICMP's applicable to the department.
  • Ensure no person under twenty-one (21) is consuming alcoholic beverages, gambling, or lingering in a gaming area.
  • Ask for identification from anyone who appears to be under thirty-five (35) years of age.
  • Attend annual retraining on Underage Gambling, Alcohol, and ID checking.
