About The Position

As a Host/Hostess with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, you will be an ambassador for the exceptional service and cuisine that are hallmarks of our dining experience. Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months food and beverage experience
  • Self‑motivated, with the ability to make effective decisions
  • Demonstrates initiative, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to maintain high service levels under pressure
  • Physically fit to lift trays repeatedly, stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining work authorization documents.

Nice To Haves

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps

Responsibilities

  • Provide warm greeting and welcome all guests to the restaurant
  • Obtain dining information from guests, such as dietary restrictions or special occasions
  • Coordinate the dining room's seating arrangements by planning ahead and anticipating fluctuations in business
  • Seat guests in an organized fashion to maintain service flows for the Servers
  • Adhere to all hotel environmental policies and initiatives
  • Conduct frequent inspections of the outlet areas, reporting any deficiencies in equipment or aesthetics to the Outlet Manager
  • Other duties as outlined by outlet Manager including coverage in other F&B outlets and Banquets
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment, and actively participate in health and safety initiatives
  • Adhere to all hotel environmental policies and initiatives
  • Carry out any other tasks as assigned
