About The Position

At The Country Club, we pride ourselves on delivering an exceptional dining experience that reflects our tradition of hospitality, professionalism, and warm service. The Host serves as the first point of contact for members and guests, setting the tone for a welcoming and seamless dining experience. This role is responsible for greeting members and guests, managing reservations and seating arrangements, and coordinating with the service team to ensure smooth operations throughout the dining service. The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, and takes pride in creating a warm, professional atmosphere that reflects the high standards and culture of The Country Club. Compensation Range: $20-$23/hr. based on experience.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of prior restaurant or F&B experience.
  • Intermediate Food and Beverage knowledge.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment, and perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Basic reading and writing skills
  • Ability to speak English conversationally.
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays as scheduled
  • TIPs Certified
  • Formal Professional Attire
  • Must be able bend and reach for items off shelf, carry trays, able to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for 8 to 10 hours
  • Use touch screen for POS system

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to a private club environment is preferable.

Responsibilities

  • Arrive 20-30 minutes before service to prepare the host areas.
  • Turn on podium lights, ensure menus, pencils, chits and reservation sheets are ready and organized.
  • Review daily write-ups, function sheets and special requests.
  • Check emails for reservation changes, member notes and updates from management.
  • Walk through dining spaces and ensure tables are set correctly.
  • Manage online reservations and the reservation book.
  • Place table blocks as directed by managers and communicate availability to the front desk.
  • Maintain accurate wait times and inform members accurately.
  • Coordinate table assignments with Manager and service staff.
  • Work alongside the Dining Services Manager regarding large parties, special requests and any adjustments throughout service.
  • Warmly greet members and their guests upon arrival.
  • Address members by last name whenever possible.
  • Escort parties to their table and ensure they are settled comfortably.
  • Provide menus and assist with waters/first beverages if necessary.
  • Answer questions about seating arrangements, wait times, or dining policies, dress code.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization.
  • Communicate dietary notes, allergies, and member preferences to servers and manager.
  • Monitor tables statuses.
  • Support staff during peak times, with resetting or running food.
  • Clean host stand.
  • Review reservations for the night, note any feedback, fill out the cover report.
  • Assist service teams in the resetting of the space.
  • Complete any additional assignments assigned by management.
