About The Position

Christie Clinic's department of Host Services is seeking a part-time (20 hours/week and benefit eligible) Transporter/Host at the University clinic from Monday-Friday 1:30pm-5:30pm, with no night or weekend requirements. Provides curbside patient support by providing safe, timely and accurate transport of patients requiring wheelchair assistance or transportation to their destination within our facilities. The Host/Transporter also performs Host duties, greets all patient, staff and visitors with a smile, while directing and assisting patients. They also monitor the main entrance and parking areas and notify security of any possible problems when not transporting.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
CPR and BLS Certification

Responsibilities

Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner.
Ensures the comfort of the patient by being attentive, engaging in appropriate conversation involving the patient and making use the proper equipment is available upon request.
Safely, quickly and efficiently transports patients from their vehicle or main entrance through the check in process and onto their destination within the facility.
Alerts clinical staff immediately to any signs of patient distress or alerts management of equipment malfunction.
Wipes down and disinfects wheelchairs after each use.
Monitor the incoming visitors and parking lot for possible problems and notify security.
Respond to routine requests for information.
Participates and leads daily department huddles.
Maintain work area in a neat and orderly manner.
Regularly participates in ongoing education and trainings to improve knowledge and skills.
Perform other work or projects as required.
