About The Position

The Host Person is responsible for greeting and seating guests, managing customer flow, providing menus and information about specials, coordinating with other staff, operating the cash register, maintaining the host area, answering phone calls, taking to-go orders, and adhering to the Thoughtful Service Model and Standard Operating Procedures.

Requirements

  • Ability to greet and seat guests according to preference, availability, and rotation guidelines.
  • Skill in managing business flow and customer distribution.
  • Proficiency in providing menus and informing guests of specials.
  • Capability to coordinate with various restaurant staff.
  • Experience operating an electronic cash register system.
  • Ability to accurately account for payment transactions.
  • Skill in transporting monies.
  • Ability to keep the host area stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Understanding and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Regular attendance for scheduled work.
  • Ability to answer phone calls and take to-go orders.
  • Adherence to the Thoughtful Service Model.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and seat guests at table according to guest preference, table availability, and within proper rotation guidelines.
  • Ensure business flow and distribution of customers to server by following the direction of management, fair and consistent seating rotation of tables, and communication with staff of business volume changes.
  • Provide guests with menus, inform guests of restaurant specials, and feature items.
  • Coordinate with food servers, bus persons, and other restaurant personnel in providing guest service.
  • Operate electronic cash register system to accurately and immediately account for payment transactions and transports monies to and from the main credit cage.
  • Keeps cash register and host area stocked with necessary equipment, forms, and supplies.
  • Perform all job functions in conjunction with the guidelines described in the Standard Operating Procedures manual to ensure consistent execution of company and department standard.
  • Maintains regular attendance for scheduled work.
  • Answer phone calls and take to-go orders.
  • Must follow the Thoughtful Service Model at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
