About The Position

Salt + Marrow Kitchen, located within Crowne Plaza North Augusta, is seeking a friendly, professional, and guest-focused Host/Hostess to serve as the first point of contact for our restaurant guests. This individual plays a critical role in creating a positive first impression by greeting guests warmly, managing seating arrangements, and ensuring an exceptional dining experience from arrival to departure. The ideal candidate is personable, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment while maintaining a welcoming and professional demeanor.

Requirements

  • Previous restaurant, hospitality, customer service, or guest-facing experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests promptly and professionally upon arrival.
  • Manage the restaurant waitlist and seating chart efficiently.
  • Escort guests to tables and provide menus.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and assist with reservations, restaurant inquiries, and guest requests.
  • Communicate effectively with servers, bartenders, managers, and kitchen staff regarding seating flow and guest needs.
  • Monitor dining room capacity and coordinate seating to ensure balanced server sections.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand, entrance, and waiting areas.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned.
  • Thank guests as they depart and invite them to return.
  • Support the Food & Beverage team during peak service periods as needed.
  • Address guest concerns professionally and notify management of any issues requiring escalation.
  • Maintain knowledge of restaurant offerings, promotions, hours of operation, and hotel amenities.
