About The Position

The Host/Hostess is responsible for providing a warm and welcoming experience for guests as they enter the restaurant. This role supports the team by managing reservations, seating guests, and ensuring a smooth flow of service, contributing to the overall operations of the hotel's restaurant.

Requirements

  • Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal abilities
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Sitting: Occasional
  • Standing/Walking: Frequent, including standing for long periods
  • Lifting/Carrying: Up to 25 lbs, such as menus and supplies
  • Other Physical Requirements: Handling, grasping, and crouching as needed
  • Interior: Restaurant dining area and entrance

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly and escort them to their tables.
  • Manage reservations and seating arrangements.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host/hostess stand and entrance area.
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to guest inquiries.
  • Handle guest complaints and resolve issues promptly.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by accommodating special requests.
  • Assist in training new hosts/hostesses as needed.
  • Support team performance by collaborating with colleagues.
  • Communicate effectively with the restaurant manager and other staff.
  • Report any incidents or safety concerns immediately.
  • Follow all hotel policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to safety standards and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas.
  • Display courteous behavior with guests and team members.
  • Report any unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Ensure restaurant equipment is in proper working condition.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
