About The Position

The Host/Hostess position will be responsible for greeting and seating guests for breakfast service. This role requires the ability to think on your feet while maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor. The host will also prepare guests for their dining experience and may assist with serving coffee and beverages.

Requirements

• Must be able to think on your feet.
• Must maintain a professional and friendly demeanor.
• Previous service experience preferred.
• Must be able to follow directions.
• Must be able to get along well with others.
• Must be TIPS, CARE (or equivalent) certified, or become certified by the first day on the job.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and seating guests for breakfast service.
• Ensuring equitable table rotation among servers.
• Preparing guests for their dining experience.
• Assisting with serving coffee and beverages as needed.
• Checking restaurant for proper set-up upon arrival.
• Verifying micro machine settings against the proper menu.
• Completing the floor plan based on the station rotation chart.
• Assigning the sidework schedule on the floor plan.
• Posting the floor plan at the host stand.
• Completing the menu class form and gathering specials and daily information.
• Conducting menu class.
• Seating guests according to station rotation and issuing menus.
• Removing extra silverware if there is an extra seat and no DRA.
• Recording the number of guests on the guest flow chart per station.
• Marking the next rotation on the guest flow sheet.
• Knowing micro procedures.
• Checking opening sidework before servers go on break.
• Setting micro machines for the next shift's menu and turning them off.
• Being familiar with hotel facilities, their locations, and hours of operation.
• Knowing directions to the hotel.
• Carrying out reasonable requests by management.
