About The Position

The Host/Hostess position will be responsible for greeting and seating guests for breakfast service. This role requires collaboration with servers to ensure equitable table rotation and the ability to think quickly while maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor. After seating guests, the host will inform them of what to expect and may assist with serving coffee or beverages.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous service experience preferred.
Must be able to follow directions and get along well with others.
Must be TIPS, CARE (or equivalent) certified, or become certified by the first day on the job.

Responsibilities

Greeting and seating guests for breakfast service.
Collaborating with servers to ensure equitable table rotation.
Preparing guests for their dining experience.
Assisting with serving coffee and beverages as needed.
Checking restaurant for proper set-up upon arrival.
Checking micro machines to ensure they are set to the proper menu.
Filling out floor plan by checking station rotation chart and assigning sidework schedule.
Posting the floor plan at the host stand.
Filling out menu class form, gathering specials and daily information, and conducting menu class.
Seating guests following a rotation of stations and issuing menus.
Removing extra silverware and returning them to the credenza if there is an extra seat and no DRA.
Recording the number of guests on the guest flow chart per station.
Knowing micro procedures if applicable.
Checking opening sidework before sending servers on break.
Setting micro machines to the next shift’s menu and turning machines off.
Being familiar with hotel facilities, their location, and hours of operation, or where to direct guests to find this information.
Knowing directions to get to the hotel.
Carrying out all reasonable requests by management that the employee is capable of performing.
