About The Position

Hotel Equities is searching for a Host/Hostess for the Sabor Restaurant at Hotel Paso Del Norte in El Paso, Texas. The role involves greeting and escorting guests to tables, monitoring the restaurant and staff, and maintaining a courteous and efficient operation of the dining room to ensure guest satisfaction. Employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

Requirements

Knowledge of restaurant operations, including appropriate staffing levels, service equipment, and guest relations.
Ability to read the English language to fully comprehend guest requests, memos, reservations, promotional materials, event orders, and similar written materials.
Ability to speak the English language sufficiently to conduct small employee meetings to impart new information.
Ability to remember, recite, and promote the variety of menu items.
Ability to move throughout a crowded room to seat guests.
Ability to effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner, including listening, demonstrating empathy, and providing positive and proactive solutions.

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Restaurant greeter experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet and escort guests to their tables and present menus.
Answer and record all phone calls within three rings in a professional manner.
Maintain proper set-up of the dining room and assign stations to service staff.
Receive, record, and make arrangements for reservations and special functions.
Perform opening and closing duties.
Assist others with side work, including cleaning, stocking, and folding napkins.
Carry coffee and/or tea pots, refill guests’ cups, handle special guest requests, and ensure guest satisfaction.
Answer telephones and handle room service orders.
Organize and maintain the buffet.
