About The Position

The Lodge & Club is seeking a friendly, polished, and energetic Host/Hostess who is available to work day and evening shifts, including weekends and holidays. Our welcoming and professional team works together to create memorable experiences for our members and guests. As we continue our pursuit of Forbes Five-Star service, we are looking for individuals who demonstrate genuine hospitality, strong attention to detail, and a passion for exceeding expectations. The Host/Hostess is often the first and last point of contact for our members and guests and plays an important role in creating a warm, personalized dining experience. Requirements

  • Previous customer service, restaurant, hotel, resort, or private-club experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional and welcoming demeanor.
  • Ability to remain composed and attentive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to learn reservation and Point of Sale systems.
  • Commitment to providing personalized, detail-oriented service.
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

  • Warmly welcoming members and guests.
  • Managing reservations and seating.
  • Maintaining an organized dining-room entrance.
  • Supporting the restaurant team in providing exceptional service.
  • Work a flexible schedule that may include days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and split shifts.
  • Arrive to work on time, consistently, in the complete required uniform.
  • Maintain a polished, professional appearance in accordance with Club standards.
  • Attend required training sessions, safety courses, and departmental meetings.
  • Check the overall presentation of the dining room, including the entrance, host stand, music level, tables, chairs, and floors.
  • Review reservations, special requests, member preferences, and anticipated business levels before each shift.
  • Greet members and guests promptly with a warm smile and use their names whenever possible.
  • Manage reservations, walk-in guests, waitlists, and seating arrangements accurately and professionally.
  • Escort members and guests to their tables, assist with chairs as appropriate, and present menus.
  • Distribute tables and covers evenly among servers while considering reservations, section assignments, and service flow.
  • Communicate accurate wait times and keep waiting members and guests informed.
  • Answer telephone calls professionally and assist with reservations and general restaurant questions.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and welcoming host stand and dining-room entrance.
  • Communicate special occasions, dietary needs, accessibility requests, and member preferences to the appropriate team members.
  • Assist servers and other team members as needed without leaving the entrance unattended for an extended period.
  • Thank members and guests as they leave and invite them to return.
  • Respond to member and guest concerns professionally and promptly involve a manager when appropriate.
  • Perform other duties that support exceptional member and guest service as assigned by the Dining Room Manager or Food and Beverage leadership.
