About The Position

The Host/Hostess is responsible for warmly greeting guests, managing waitlists, seating guests, and ensuring a positive dining experience from arrival to departure. This role involves inspecting table presentation, communicating wait times, accommodating special requests, and providing initial information about the menu and server. The position also requires attending team meetings and maintaining exceptional hygiene.

Requirements

Ability to read and understand simple instructions.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information to guests and other team members.
Must have exceptional hygiene and grooming habits.
Constant standing/walking.
Occasional stooping/kneeling.
Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying up to 40 pounds.
Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps.
Frequent, continual, intermittent flexing or rotation of the wrist(s) and spine.
Constant receiving detailed information through oral communication.
Constant talking, expressing, or exchanging ideas using the spoken word.
Constant clarity of vision at near and/or far distances.

Nice To Haves

Previous restaurant experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Warmly greet all guests upon their arrival.
Open the front door for guests entering or leaving the restaurant when possible.
Inspect tables for proper presentation.
Record guest information in the NoWait App and provide estimated wait times when the restaurant is on a wait.
Notify guests via the NoWait App when their table is ready.
Accommodate special seating requests whenever possible.
Make friendly conversation with guests as you walk them to their table.
Offer guests a menu and inform them of the server’s name upon seating.
Handle food: chips and salsa.
Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
Attend all scheduled team member meetings.
