About The Position

North Shore Steaks & Seafood is seeking a Host/Hostess to be the first and last impression a guest receives. This is a critical position focused on providing exceptional hospitality and guest experience. The company aims to be Waukegan's top gaming and entertainment hub, prioritizing team development, well-being, and career advancement. They are looking for adaptable, coachable individuals passionate about hospitality to join their growing team in Lake County.

Requirements

Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary certifications and/or licenses as required by local gaming regulations.
Working knowledge of the systems used within the company.
Proficient in opening and closing procedures.
Proficient in food knowledge.
Proficient in beverage knowledge.
Proficient in OpenTable.
Proficient in phone system operation.

Nice To Haves

Bi-lingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

Consistently following established sequence of service to provide the highest level of service to guests.
Building and establishing a personal clientele through guest interaction and name/face recognition.
Anticipating guests' needs and responding appropriately.
Greeting guests with eye contact, a smile, and a sincere welcome as soon as they enter the restaurant.
Using guest names whenever possible.
Politely communicating with guests regarding any delays or changes in their table or reservation.
Providing a sincere farewell with a smile.
Performing all opening and closing duties daily, as assigned per shift.
Maintaining cleanliness of the host area and entrances to ensure a positive first impression.
Working as a team to ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction.
Following all policies and procedures set forth by the company.
Following all health and safety regulations.
Communicating effectively with management and team members.
Maintaining the highest level of professionalism with both guests and team members.
Utilizing OpenTable for reservations and walk-ins to obtain guest information.
Seating guests in a polite and efficient manner at a reasonable pace for service.
Assisting servers, bartenders, and server assistants when possible to keep the flow of the dining room moving.
Complying with all managers' and direct supervisor's requests.
