About The Position

Pier Sixty-Six Resort, a luxury resort in Fort Lauderdale, is seeking a Fine Dining Host/Hostess to join their team. This role is the first point of contact for guests, ensuring a warm welcome and a positive start to their dining experience. The resort offers a dynamic environment with luxury products and services, requiring a passion for personalized service and guest engagement. The Host/Hostess will support the signature fine dining restaurant, reporting to the outlet General Manager.

Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Ability to frequently walk between the host stand, dining areas, and other guest service areas.
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and occasionally kneel as needed to perform job duties.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 25 pounds , including menus, supplies, and other restaurant materials, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to safely maneuver through busy and crowded dining areas while maintaining awareness of guests, team members, and service activity.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements, including handling menus, seating charts, reservation systems, phones, and other equipment.
• Ability to remain attentive and maintain physical stamina while working in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment.
• Ability to visually inspect dining areas, tables, menus, and guest seating areas.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members while standing and moving throughout the restaurant.
• Ability to work varying shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on business needs.

• Previous hostess experience in a professional setting is preferred

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma or GED recommended
• Some College experience or Degree recommended
• Bilingual language preferred

Responsibilities

• Greet guests with a friendly and welcoming demeanor upon arrival
• Escort guests to their tables and provide menus
• Assist in seating Members and guests according to seating chart or guest preferences
• Manage waitlist during peak hours and provide accurate wait time estimates
• Answer phone calls and take reservations or provide information as needed
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host/host station and dining area
• Handle guest inquiries, complaints, or special requests with professionalism and efficiency
• Adhere to departmental policies and procedures
• Effectively communicate with peers, management, line, and front-of-the-house employees
• Practice effective listening: (seek to understand)
• Perform related duties as required
• Be responsible for the cleanliness of the immediate work area as well as the general property
• Adhere to proper grooming, dress and uniform standards as set forth by Resort policy
• Be courteous to all guests and coworkers
• Maintain behavior consistent with sexual harassment/hostile work environment policy dictated in the Employee Handbook
• Maintain complete knowledge of all outlet offerings and resort information.
• Perform other tasks assigned by supervisor
