About The Position

PIER 290 Restaurant in Williams Bay, WI is hiring Hosts and Hostesses to be the first point of contact for our guests. As a host/hostess, you’ll set the tone for the dining experience by greeting guests warmly, managing reservations and waitlists, and escorting customers to their tables. The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, and attentive, with strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys making every guest feel welcome. Full-time, part-time, and seasonal positions are available. Flexible scheduling makes this role ideal for students or anyone seeking a hospitality position in a lively, lakeside setting.

Requirements

Strong customer service and communication skills (in-person and by phone)
Good organizational skills with the ability to monitor the dining and bar areas
Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
Flexible availability for shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Good physical condition to walk and stand during shifts
Must be 16 years or older

Nice To Haves

Previous hosting or hospitality experience is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

Welcome guests with a warm and friendly attitude
Provide accurate wait times and manage reservations and waiting lists
Escort guests to assigned dining or bar areas and present menus
Communicate with servers to ensure efficient seating and service flow
Greet guests upon departure and thank them for dining with us
Maintain a clean and organized reception area
Cater to guests requiring extra attention (such as families with children or elderly guests)
Answer incoming phone calls and assist with customer inquiries
Support the wait staff and restaurant team as needed
