About The Position

Summit Club, set outside of Las Vegas, NV, is seeking a Host/Hostess to join the Food and Beverage Department. The Host/Hostess is responsible for the first impression when members and guests walk into our dining facilities, and has the distinct ability to have a direct impact on the experience of our members and guests. The Host/Hostess will assist members with their reservations, taking them to their assigned tables, and assisting the Food and Beverage staff as needed. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a fine-dining or high-volume environment at a high-end restaurant, resort, or private club.
  • Knowledge of HACCP & local food safety standards; possesses or can obtain State Food Safety Certificate.
  • Knowledgeable of food and beverage operations.
  • Extraordinary attention to detail, quality and service.
  • Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
  • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Long hours may be required due to business demands.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
  • Flexibility and ability to pivot to new projects and a desire to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the flow of Guests into the Dining and Bar areas and provide accurate wait times to incoming Guests if appropriate
  • Take food and beverage to-go orders in our point of sales systems which relays orders to the kitchen and bar
  • Be familiar with daily specials and be prepared to answer guests’ questions
  • Inspect all menus to ensure their condition and cleanliness for all outlets
