Requirements

  • High School Diploma and or equivalent.
  • Able to lift and carry trays fifteen pounds or more.
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
  • Must be available and have a willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Full knowledge and understanding of departmental rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Problem solver that takes direction well.
  • Treats customers and team members with courtesy and respect.
  • Possess excellent Guest Service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Professional appearance.
  • Candidates 18 or older for all positions, including gaming licensed positions (Must be 21 or older for Beverage Server, Barback, Bartender)

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer prior casino experience and 6 months of previous food service experience.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to guest service requirement listed above.
  • Responsible for monitoring alcohol consumption of the guest.
  • Responsible for opening and closing side work.
  • Requires a working knowledge and ability to apply and follow basic health code requirements.
  • Interact in a professional manner with both the internal and external guests.
  • Possess outstanding Guest Service skills.
  • Maintain uniform and appearance standards.
  • Team member must follow Ameristar policy and procedures, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
  • Effectively communicate with Casino Hosts, Coordinators and Player Development Manager regarding players.
  • Prior to the end of shift they must complete work assignments and clean their assigned areas.
  • Perform various other tasks as assigned.
  • Working hours are irregular and will cover days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Greet guests and introduce self with a smile and a pleasant disposition.
  • Be familiar with menu, food preparation, and drinks.
  • Observe and anticipate guests’ needs. Keep tables clear between courses. Refill beverages throughout the meal.
  • Bus tables after guest leave; wipe off entire table, chairs, and booth seats; reset tables in proper manner, inspecting silverware for cleanliness; check floor area of assigned station keeping it free.
