Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
  • Basic computer skills for managing reservations and waitlists.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role preferred but not required.
  • Experience working in a restaurant or hospitality environment.
  • Familiarity with reservation management software such as OpenTable or similar platforms.
  • Multilingual abilities to assist a diverse guest population.
  • Conflict resolution skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Knowledge of local dining trends and menu items to assist guests effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests promptly and courteously upon arrival, providing a warm and professional welcome.
  • Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating assignments to optimize table turnover and guest satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management to coordinate guest seating and special requests.
  • Maintain an organized and clean host/hostess station and dining area to ensure a pleasant environment.
  • Handle guest inquiries, resolve seating-related issues, and provide information about the menu or restaurant policies as needed.
