About The Position

17 West is a premiere American Bistro in New Bremen, Ohio. This unique dining experience features a full lunch and dinner menu, daily specials, a wide selection of cocktails and live entertainment. With an upscale, contemporary menu and a casual atmosphere, the restaurant offers options for business lunches, an evening out and everything in between.

Requirements

  • Less than 2 years related experience
  • Less than high school graduate
  • Must be 16 years of age
  • Job may require employee to drive a company or personal vehicle; job is non-DOT regulated and an MVR is required.
  • Per 8-hour shift. Stand for 8 hours.
  • Continuously lifts 11 to 20 pounds.
  • Frequently lifts 21 to 30 pounds.
  • Occasionally lifts 41 to 50 pounds.
  • Infrequently lifts 51 to 100 pounds.
  • Continuously bend/stoop/twist (greater than 30 degrees).
  • Frequently grasp/grip (whole hand)

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of cooking practices and methods.
  • Experienced in cold food stations.
  • Detail oriented with good organizational and communication skills.
  • Able to follow procedures and processes and work in a team environment.
  • Communicate in a factual, polite, and professional manner.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests politely and escort them to their respective tables, pull seats, and ensure they are comfortable.
  • Confirm with guests that seating and service meets their expectations.
  • Say goodbye to guests, inquire if quality of service was provided, and invite their return.
  • Record any problems experienced.
  • Review all reservations and return messages to ensure that all reservations are accounted for.
  • Check with manager to stay informed of private parties to be held at the restaurant.
  • Deliver food to appropriate tables and distribute food correctly according to ticket/seating.
  • Ensure food order, presentation, and placement of food is correct prior to leaving back of the house.
  • Interact with guests and answer questions regarding food orders being delivered.
  • Clean tables, refill water glasses, stock the bar, wash dishes, and assist with food preparation.
  • Maintain cleanliness of dining room, restrooms, entryway, kitchen, prep area, and equipment.
  • Ensure menus are clean, free of stains, and in good condition.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude.
  • Practice positive personal hygiene and cleanliness habits during work hours.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
