About The Position
McMenamins Elks Temple is hiring for Host/Food Runner/Support Staff. McMenamins is a family-owned company in Oregon and Washington serving handcrafted beer, wine, cider, spirits, and coffee alongside pub fare. Locations range from neighborhood pubs to historic hotels, emphasizing community, art, history, music, food, drink, and fun. The Host/Food Runner/Support Staff duties include greeting and seating customers in a high-volume environment, answering phones, directing customers, answering guest questions, and expediting and delivering food from the kitchen to patrons. This position may also involve cleaning and setting tables, restocking supplies, general cleaning, working outside seasonally, and working in smoking and non-smoking environments. Maintaining excellent customer relations is paramount. This role requires mental agility and the ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. A host/food runner must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Requirements
- Obtain and maintain a current food handlers card
- Enjoy working in a busy customer service-oriented environment
Nice To Haves
- Previous related experience is preferred
- Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays preferred
Responsibilities
- Greeting and seating customers in a high-volume environment
- Answering phones
- Directing customers to assigned or preferred seating
- Answering guest’s questions regarding the pub or property
- Expediting and delivering food from the kitchen to patrons in a timely manner
- Help, clean, and set tables
- Restock supplies
- Perform general cleaning
- Work outside on a seasonal basis
- Work in smoking and non-smoking environments
- Maintain and provide excellent customer relations with all patrons
