About The Position
The Restaurant Host/ess greets and seats guests while coordinating reservations and responding to inquiries in an efficient, courteous and professional manner. This role is crucial in creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of high-volume host/ess experience, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort.
- Excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Strong time management skills: ability to multi-task, set priorities, and adjust to changing conditions.
- Willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to operate all computer equipment necessary to perform the job.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work closely with other departments and communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and guests.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 10 lbs.
- US work authorization is required.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of Opera and OpenTable preferred.
Responsibilities
- Seat guests promptly at a table pre-set for the number in the party and according to guest preference.
- Answer telephones to take guest reservations or provide information regarding the restaurant or any other hotel service.
- Anticipate the needs of guests, respond accordingly to guest inquiries or problems, and recognize regular guests by name and utilize the guest’s name consistently.
- Inspect and maintain menus to ensure quality, condition and appearance.
