About The Position

Trapper's Sushi is looking to grow our team by adding a new Host/Cashier! Our mission is to provide an exceptional dining experience by learning our guests’ names, delivering outstanding service, and serving quality food that leaves them looking forward to their next visit. The Host/Cashier is the first point of contact for every guest and plays a key role in delivering the warm, welcoming experience Trapper’s Sushi is known for. This position is responsible for greeting guests, managing the flow of the dining room, handling payments, and maintaining an organized and efficient front-of-house environment.

Requirements

  • Previous customer service or hospitality experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail when entering orders, quoting wait times, and processing payments.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must obtain a valid Food Handler’s Permit or State Food Worker Card before the first day of work, as required by state law.

Responsibilities

  • Greet every guest with warmth, enthusiasm, and a genuine desire to create a memorable experience.
  • Manage the waitlist, seating rotation, and table availability to support a smooth service flow.
  • Answer phones promptly and accurately enter takeout orders.
  • Process payments and cash or card transactions in accordance with all cash-handling procedures.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the host stand, lobby, menus, and restrooms as assigned.
  • Communicate clearly with servers, managers, and kitchen team members regarding seating, large parties, and special requests.
  • Monitor lobby conditions and guest needs, including accessibility and reasonable accommodation needs.
  • Assist with packaging and verifying takeout orders during high-volume periods.
  • Follow all company safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards, including requirements for chemical handling and personal protective equipment.
  • Demonstrate teamwork, integrity, and respect while contributing to a positive and inclusive work environment.
