About The Position

Innovative Medical Solutions, in partnership with Mission Community Hospital, a 145-bed acute care facility in the San Fernando Valley, is dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered care. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Hospitalist to join our team at Mission Community Hospital. This full-time position operates on a 7 on / 7 off schedule, providing an excellent work-life balance. The Hospitalist will deliver comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  • Valid California medical license or eligibility to obtain one prior to starting.
  • Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Strong clinical skills with the ability to manage complex patient cases and make sound clinical decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to patient-centered care.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as a Hospitalist or in a similar acute care setting.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history-taking and physical examinations, to develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Coordinate care with specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless and effective patient care.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education on medical conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, hospital committees, and infection control efforts to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to facilitate patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to medical students, residents, or advanced practice providers as needed.
