About The Position

Ellis Medicine is seeking an experienced MD/DO Hospitalist to join our Hospital Medicine team at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, New York. The ideal candidate will be a confident, experienced clinician with strong multitasking and communication skills who thrives in a fast-paced inpatient setting and enjoys working closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members.

Requirements

  • Medical Degree: Earn an MD (Doctor of Medicine) or DO (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) from an accredited medical school.
  • Certification of completion of residency training in internal medicine required.
  • Must qualify for a New York State (NYS) Medical License.
  • Active DEA Registration
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to high-quality inpatient care
  • Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Hospital Medicine experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care to hospitalized patients
  • Perform patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and manage ongoing care
  • Collaborate with supervising physicians and healthcare team members
  • Participate in care transitions and discharge planning
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and consulting services
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Demonstrate leadership, clinical judgment, and independent decision-making within scope of practice
