About The Position
Ellis Medicine is seeking an experienced MD/DO Hospitalist to join our Hospital Medicine team at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, New York. The ideal candidate will be a confident, experienced clinician with strong multitasking and communication skills who thrives in a fast-paced inpatient setting and enjoys working closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members.
Requirements
- Medical Degree: Earn an MD (Doctor of Medicine) or DO (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) from an accredited medical school.
- Certification of completion of residency training in internal medicine required.
- Must qualify for a New York State (NYS) Medical License.
- Active DEA Registration

- Prior Hospital Medicine experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care to hospitalized patients
- Perform patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and manage ongoing care
- Collaborate with supervising physicians and healthcare team members
- Participate in care transitions and discharge planning
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and consulting services
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Demonstrate leadership, clinical judgment, and independent decision-making within scope of practice
