About The Position

UnityPoint Clinic is actively recruiting for a PRN Hospitalist Physician to join our team in Dubuque, IA. UnityPoint Clinic is a physician-led, nonprofit health care organization offering comprehensive services in primary care, walk-in care and specialty care. The clinical teams at the area’s clinics are improving outcomes, lowering the number of hospital readmissions and reducing avoidable costs associated with treating chronic conditions. The UnityPoint Clinic team is known for excellence and quality patient care putting patients at the center of their care to provide the best level of health and well-being. Finley Hospital has been an integral part of the greater Dubuque community for over 130 years. As the first hospital in Dubuque, Finley has a long tradition of providing compassionate, quality health care in the communities we serve. Finley grew from a physician–led residential facility to a 126-bed, fully accredited hospital, and now, to a regional healthcare system that includes not only hospital services, but clinic and home services as well. The hospitalist schedule is 7on/7off with 12-hour shifts (this role is as needed, PRN). Each shift is staffed with 2 Physicians and 1 APP, with rounding providers and 1 dedicated admitter from 10-7 pm. The team consists of 6 Physicians and 2 APPs. There are no overnight shifts. Epic EMR is utilized.

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa
• Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician’s field of practice
• Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)
• J-1 waiver sponsorship available via HHS waiver process

Responsibilities

• Procedures optional
• Hospitalist is code leader
• Average patient census of 15-17 patients
• Admission support between 0700-1000 in round robin sequence, majority of admissions goes to dedicated admitter
• Blocked scheduling
• UnityPoint employed Telehospitalist cover overnights
