About The Position
Delphi Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Hospitalist Physician to join our team at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center in Ogdensburg, NY. This permanent role offers a structured block schedule, competitive compensation, and the opportunity to provide high-quality care in a supportive, collaborative environment. Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center is a 115-bed facility serving the community for over 130 years, including acute-care beds, an acute-care mental health center, an intensive care unit, and an obstetrics unit. The main campus also houses specialized centers for cancer and renal care, with additional off-site services. The hospital's location near the Canadian border offers access to outdoor activities.
Requirements
- Current New York State medical license
- Excellent clinical skills across a variety of inpatient cases
- ACLS certification required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Effective organizational and time management abilities
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced rural hospital environment
Nice To Haves
- Performing procedures is not required but helpful
- Experience with ventilator management is highly valuable
Responsibilities
- Managing inpatient admissions, rounding, ongoing care, and discharge planning
- Assessing patient health through interviews, physical exams, and reviewing medical histories
- Collaborating closely with APPs, nurses, and hospital staff to ensure seamless care
- Documenting patient care accurately using EMR and following hospital protocols
