About The Position

Carondelet Health Network has served Southern Arizona for over 135 years, delivering compassionate, high-quality care across a comprehensive network that includes St. Joseph's Hospital — a nationally recognized leader in stroke, cardiac, and rehabilitation services. As a Nocturnist on our Hospitalist team, you'll practice in a well-supported environment with closed ICU coverage, dedicated procedure support, and the option to teach internal medicine residents. The position is a full-time, employed position based at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tucson, AZ. The schedule is shift-based block scheduling, 7 on / 7 off with some schedule flexibility. The team is supported by 1 swing shift physician, 2 APPs during the day, and 1 APP overnight. The average patient census is 18 patients with 1-2 admissions per shift. The ICU is closed with procedure support provided by Intensivists and the IV Team. There is an optional opportunity to teach internal medicine residents. Spanish-speaking skills are a plus, but not required.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree
• Board eligible or board certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine
• Arizona licensed or eligible to obtain licensure in the State of Arizona

Responsibilities

• Provide nocturnist hospitalist coverage.
• Manage an average census of 18 patients.
