About The Position

Grow your career as a Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant at the Hospital of Central CT on a high-acuity hospital medicine team. You will be supported by a strong, collaborative hospitalist model with 2 APPs and 2 physicians on every shift. Care for a diverse, complex patient population while benefiting from structured mentorship, robust onboarding, and ongoing education through monthly grand rounds. Requirements

  • Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible)
  • APRN (Nurse Practitioner) or Physician Assistant training
  • New grads welcome to apply!

  • 1+ years’ experience in an inpatient hospitalist setting

Responsibilities

  • Under established guidelines and in collaboration and/or supervision with the practice physician(s), perform routine physical examinations.
  • Formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients.
  • In consultation with the physician(s) and care team members, develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, e.g., referral to other health team members or specialists.
  • Provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of the provider’s practice as designated by protocols.
  • Identify problems outside of their scope of practice and refers appropriately to physician.
