JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Hospitalist NP/PA • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Weslaco, TX • Service Setting: Micro Hospital (Inpatient Unit) • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: July 1, 2026 – Ongoing • Clinical Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adults • Patient Volume/Census: Average census of 6 patients • Admissions: Included • Rounding: Included • Case Mix: General inpatient cases including seizures, respiratory conditions, and gastrointestinal cases FACILITY INFORMATION • No. of Beds in Department: 8 inpatient beds • EMR System: Cerner • Office Equipment Available: Standard inpatient equipment • Specialty Backup Available: Physician on-call backup • Support Staff Available: Multidisciplinary care team • Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rate: TBD • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Not Specified REQUIRED PROCEDURES • General inpatient management JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active TX license required • Board: NP or PA certification required • DEA: Required • Certifications: BLS • Experience: Inpatient experience required • Other Qualifications: Must be comfortable in micro-hospital setting DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide inpatient rounding and patient management • Evaluate and manage acute medical conditions • Collaborate with supervising physician and care team • Maintain accurate documentation in Cerner EMR
Requirements
