Hospitalist Medical Director - Braxton
About The Position
The West Virginia University Health System (SMG) seeks a Hospitalist Medical Director to practice in Gassaway, WV. The Medical Director will oversee the Hospitalist program at Braxton County Memorial Hospital, ensuring patients receive the highest quality treatment. This role involves oversight of clinical care delivery, staffing recommendations, efficient consultation services, streamlined clinical processes, appropriate clinical treatment protocols, and maintaining high levels of patient satisfaction and safety. The Medical Director will also oversee quality metrics established by WVUHS, work closely with physicians, administration, nursing, and technical staff to maintain excellent clinical care and operations, and organize the development of new clinical programs and innovations.
Requirements
- MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent.
- Eligible to obtain a West Virginia medical license.
- Completed Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency program.
- Board certified / eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the Hospitalist program at Braxton County Memorial Hospital.
- Ensure patients receive the highest quality treatment.
- Provide oversight relating to activities associated with the delivery of clinical care.
- Make recommendations for staffing related to the appropriate delivery of clinical care.
- Ensure efficient consultation service for Braxton patients.
- Ensure streamlined clinical processes.
- Ensure appropriate clinical treatment protocols.
- Ensure maintenance of high levels of patient satisfaction and patient safety.
- Oversee quality metrics as established by WVUHS to ensure appropriate outcome measures.
- Work closely with physicians, administration, nursing, and technical staff to maintain an excellent level of general clinical care/operations.
- Organize the development of new clinical programs and innovations to continue to provide the latest clinical technologies and service.
