About The Position

Join an expanding, high-acuity Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) dedicated to caring for critically ill patients with congenital and acquired heart disease. As a front-line CICU Hospitalist, you will work within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary model to develop and execute complex care plans. This role requires operational flexibility to adapt to a dynamic inpatient environment to support optimum patient care and team depth. The position involves direct patient care, including responding to bedside inquiries, entering orders, communicating with consultants, and updating families. It also includes care coordination with Cardiology, Heart Failure, and Cardiac Critical Care Attendings to ensure clinical plans are implemented efficiently. Additionally, the role involves team collaboration and mentorship, providing clinical education to fellows, APPs, and trainees, and escalating care concerns when appropriate.

Requirements

  • MD Degree.
  • Board eligibility or certification in Pediatrics by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
  • Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges at Seattle Children’s, and assigned medical center(s).
  • Licensed as a Physician in the State of Washington or State within WAMI region.
  • Federal DEA Registration.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 3 months of hire (only if required for special privileges).
  • Prior to start of employment, must obtain, and maintain in good standing, medical or allied health professional staff privileges that are not limited, revoked, suspended, conditioned, or probationary, except for normal probationary periods due to initial appointment.
