About The Position

UT Health East Texas is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a full-time, day-shift position at Carthage Hospital. The role provides daily clinical management and co-management of patients in critical care and floor settings and may include outpatient clinic work. The clinician develops and implements plans of care within their scope of practice and written protocols, supports quality and patient-care initiatives, and serves patients and caregivers through current clinical knowledge and strong communication.

Requirements

• Experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Develop plans of care for urgent and non-urgent patients within the Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner scope of practice and written protocols.
• Maintain current knowledge of trends in diagnosis, treatment, and management of disease through continuing education, and provide leadership and resources to patients and caregivers.
• Maintain, review, and evaluate patient records, charts, department data, and medical information using clinical knowledge and protocols.
• Implement peer review and participate in quality management activities.
• Participate in staff development and motivation through training and observation to support high-quality patient care and continuous quality improvement.
• Provide good customer service through effective communication and technical knowledge, supporting UT Health and departmental objectives.
• Manage and co-manage patients daily in critical care and floor settings.
• Perform related responsibilities as required or directed.
