Requirements

  • Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Board Certified
  • Hold an unrestricted medical license in the state of State
  • Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the Advanced Practitioners field of practice
  • Eligible to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Schedule created in six-week blocks
  • NP will work 23 shifts per block
  • Rounding shifts, cross cover shifts and swing shifts
  • Coverage provided at Methodist, Methodist West and Lutheran hospitals
  • Established, three campus team serving the Des Moines community
  • Cohesive group of colleagues and supportive staff allowing for autonomy
  • Experienced staff, both clinical and non-clinical, who know the patients and the community
  • Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR to improve care coordination
  • Average of 12-15 patients per day
  • NP will practice autonomously and carry their own panel of patients
  • No procedures and no codes
  • Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills
