About The Position

This individual is responsible for hospital site specimen processing, phlebotomy, and clerical functions. He/she will supervise phlebotomy/clerical coordinator’s activities. Support services supervisor will ensure cooperation between own area and other laboratory functions, both within and outside the hospital assigned. This individual will ensure proper specimen collection, processing, and data entry according to established procedures. He/she will be responsible for all hospital specimen sorting, distribution and storage. He/she will also ensure that test orders are properly placed in the computer. He/she will need to communicate effectively with clients and co-workers to meet their needs and the needs of Alverno. This individual shall maintain a healing environment for employees and patients with a spirit of caring and concern as incorporated in the philosophy of Franciscan Alliance, Provena Health and Resurrection Health Care while performing all job functions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Three (3) years experience in a clinical laboratory setting required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
