Mayo Clinic is seeking Pharmacy Technicians to join their expanding team. Open positions may be for first, second, or third shift, and can be full-time, part-time, or PRN. The specific role (Technician I or II) will depend on the applicant's qualifications. Pharmacy Technicians play a crucial role in assisting Pharmacists to provide optimal pharmaceutical care. This involves accurately and efficiently gathering, labeling, and distributing medications, as well as packaging, preparing, and compounding medications, including hazardous substances. They are responsible for handling and distributing controlled substances in compliance with regulations, assisting with drug diversion surveillance, training new employees, maintaining medication inventories, and billing. Effective communication using established systems and processes is essential, along with performing duties with consideration for age and ability. Technicians work under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist and cooperate with other healthcare professionals. Pharmacy Technicians III may also engage in advanced roles such as Quality Improvement, Education/Training, Inventory Management, and Research, serving as lead technicians or super users for operations and technology implementations.
