About The Position

Sheridan Community Hospital is seeking a PRN Hospital Pharmacist to support both inpatient and outpatient pharmacy services. This role is ideal for a pharmacist looking for schedule flexibility while maintaining meaningful clinical involvement—supporting providers, nurses, and patients across a full range of hospital pharmacy responsibilities. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited program
  • Active Michigan Pharmacist license required
  • Strong knowledge of medication safety, clinical pharmacology, and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and respond to urgent patient care needs

Nice To Haves

  • 1–3 years of pharmacist experience preferred
  • Hospital pharmacy experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Review, verify, and interpret medication orders for safety and accuracy
  • Dispense medications for inpatient and outpatient use
  • Monitor for drug interactions, contraindications, and therapeutic effectiveness
  • Serve as a clinical resource to providers and nursing staff
  • Support antibiotic and antimicrobial stewardship programs
  • Prepare and oversee IV medications and admixtures
  • Maintain controlled substance records and investigate discrepancies
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of medications
  • Restock emergency medications and maintain pharmacy inventory
  • Assist with hospital formulary management
  • Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
  • Educate clinical staff on medication therapies and best practices
  • Support department coverage during scheduled and on-call shifts
