About The Position

Cardinal Health Remote Pharmacy Services is seeking a highly energetic, clinically oriented pharmacist to provide remote pharmacy services to acute-care hospitals. The role allows pharmacists to use clinical skills—including medication monitoring, dosing, and therapy review—while dispensing is handled by the hospital. The service model emphasizes patient care, continuity of care, and teamwork. This is a PRN/on-call position with typical evening and overnight shifts, as well as weekend and holiday coverage.

Requirements

Hold an active pharmacy license in the state of residence and in the state of original licensure.
Be willing to obtain all core licenses required for the role—CT, DE, MA, ME, NH, NY, OH, PA, RI, and VT—within the first 12 months of hire.
Be able to gain reciprocity to additional states required for practice.
Be computer savvy and able to learn and operate multiple pharmacy information systems.
Have excellent communication skills to interact successfully with other healthcare professionals and facilitate competent clinical care.
Provide evening, weekend, and holiday coverage.
Have experience or ability to interpret and process handwritten orders as well as CPOE orders.

Nice To Haves

Two to four years of clinical hospital inpatient experience preferred; at least three years of inpatient hospital experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform remote order entry and evaluate and verify CPOE orders.
Provide consultations to physicians and nursing staff.
Provide clinical medication dosing services.
Review and monitor patient profiles and laboratory values for therapeutic outcomes.
Coordinate medication access according to facility policies and procedures and in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
