Multi Site Hospital Operations Manager Burns Veterinary Group – Detroit Metro area, Michigan Are you a strong team leader with an entrepreneurial mindset who enjoys building teams and driving operational success? Burns Veterinary Group is seeking a motivated Multi Site Hospital Operations Manager to support and lead operations across three veterinary hospitals in beautiful Michigan. This role is ideal for a results driven leader who thrives in a fast paced environment and enjoys working collaboratively with medical leadership to build strong teams, deliver exceptional client service, and ensure high quality patient care. Veterinary industry experience is a plus, we also welcome candidates with leadership backgrounds in human healthcare, retail, hospitality, or other service based industries. This position is best suited for a leader who takes ownership of operational performance, is comfortable making decisions, and enjoys developing strong teams that drive hospital success. As the Hospital Operations Manager , you will: Oversee daily operations across multiple hospital locations, ensuring efficient workflows, strong client service, and high‑quality patient care Manage financial performance including P&L, labor management, cost control, accounts receivable, and supply/inventory costs Partner with regional leadership to review metrics, identify trends, and forecast operational needs Oversee scheduling and payroll processes, balancing labor, workflow demands, and operational efficiency Lead operational improvements by enhancing workflows, implementing new systems/technologies, and driving change initiatives Build and maintain a positive, collaborative hospital culture centered on teamwork, accountability, and strong communication Manage credential tracking for DVM staff and ensure compliance with required license Provide coaching, feedback, and performance support to team members Ideal Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate is a strong operational leader who: Enjoys building teams and improving processes Finds satisfaction in helping hospitals succeed Can balance financial performance with team development Maintains a focus on patient care and client experience Successful candidates will bring: A combination of leadership and business acumen The ability to work collaboratively with veterinarians and hospital teams A proactive, solutions‑oriented approach to challenges Comfort managing multiple priorities across several locations A commitment to maintaining a positive and supportive team culture This role is well suited for someone who is: Highly organized A clear and confident communicator Comfortable making decisions that support both the hospital team and the success of the business

Requirements

  • 5+ years of leadership or management experience, preferably in healthcare, veterinary medicine, retail, hospitality, or another service‑based industry
  • Demonstrated experience managing financial performance, including budgeting, P&L oversight, labor management, or operational cost control
  • Experience overseeing multi‑site operations or managing multiple teams or locations strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Management, or a related field preferred
  • A combination of leadership and business acumen
  • The ability to work collaboratively with veterinarians and hospital teams
  • A proactive, solutions‑oriented approach to challenges
  • Comfort managing multiple priorities across several locations
