About The Position

Advocate Health, a leading community-focused academic healthcare system, is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to join their inpatient Hospital Medicine team at Atrium Health Anson in Monroe, North Carolina. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive inpatient care in a community hospital setting within the Advocate Health network. The role involves managing admissions and rounding on adult patients, with a 7 days on, 7 days off schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. There is no call required, though shifts may include cross-cover responsibilities. The position operates under a collaborative practice model with Hospital Medicine physicians and APPs, and is eligible for an annual quality/performance incentive bonus. Requirements

• Nurse Practitioner Candidates: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, Master’s Degree or Doctor of Nursing Practice required, Acute Care certification required; ACNP or AGACNP preferred, Current North Carolina NP/APRN and RN licensure required, National board certification required, DEA license and prescriptive authority required, BLS certification through the American Heart Association required and must remain valid at least 90 days beyond start date
• Physician Assistant Candidates: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program, Master’s Degree preferred, NCCPA certification required, CAQ certification preferred, Current North Carolina PA licensure required, DEA license and prescriptive authority required, BLS certification through the American Heart Association required and must remain valid at least 90 days beyond start date

Nice To Haves

• Previous inpatient or Hospital Medicine experience preferred
• ACNP or AGACNP preferred (for NP candidates)
• CAQ certification preferred (for PA candidates)

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, histories, and physical examinations
• Manage inpatient admissions and daily rounding
• Develop and implement treatment plans
• Order and interpret laboratory, diagnostic, and radiology studies
• Prescribe and administer medications within scope of practice
• Document patient encounters and plans of care in the medical record
• Perform procedures within scope of practice, as applicable
• Coordinate care with physicians, nursing, specialists, ancillary services, and other members of the healthcare team
• Participate in departmental and quality improvement initiatives
• Support appropriate discharge planning and transitions of care
• Advocate for the needs of patients and families
