About The Position

UW Medical Center-Montlake Environmental Services has multiple employment opportunities for Evening Hospital Custodians. This is a 100% FTE (40 hours per week) position with an evening shift from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, rotating every other weekend. The primary focus of this role is maintaining the cleanliness and care of facilities in inpatient and non-patient areas, as well as administrative offices.

• Physical ability to do required work.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and disinfects all furniture, fixtures, and equipment according to procedure.
• Removes and properly handles soiled linen; disinfects and remakes beds in patient rooms; dust and wet mops hard floors with disinfectant.
• Performs bloodborne pathogen and chemical spill containment and clean-up according to procedure.
• Strips, cleans, buffs, and applies finish to floors. Uses high speed floor buffers, polishers, and automated floors scrubbers.
• Performs in-between case cleaning and terminal cleaning of surgical, obstetrical, and invasive procedure rooms including flood mopping and disinfecting according to procedure.
• Vacuums and spot cleans carpets; operates automated carpet shampooers and extractors.
• Performs cleaning and related activities in areas within a reasonable distance outside of the facility using hand-operated tools or small power equipment to remove snow or debris, and sweep sidewalks or stairs.
• Complies with safety policies and procedures and medical center emergency and disaster procedures.

Benefits

• Evening Differential Pay $1.75 per hour
• Weekend Differential Pay $2.00 per hour
