About The Position
Harborview Medical Center Environmental Services has an outstanding opportunity for a Hospital Custodian Supervisor 2. This is a 100% FTE (40 hours per week) Day Shift position. The role involves supervising a team of 25+ custodians and one Custodial Supervisor, training staff, and managing administrative tasks such as supply levels, staffing needs, training requirements, and department procedures. Requirements
- Three years of experience in custodial or general maintenance work
- Two years of experience as a Custodian Supervisor 1
- Equivalent education and experience may substitute for required qualifications
Responsibilities
- Serve as a second-line supervisor in the custodial department
- Interview and recommend candidates, conduct training, schedule work, handle leave requests, complete evaluations, and recommend disciplinary actions
- Determine staffing needs, analyze workloads, and assign duties accordingly
- Train new hires in the Housekeeping and Linen departments
- Supervise day shift custodial staff in the Trauma Emergency Room to ensure proper cleaning procedures
- Inspect facilities, monitor hand hygiene compliance, retrain staff when needed, and report to the Operations Manager
- Prepare custodial reports, including equipment inventories and procedural documentation
