About The Position

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Ohio, Inc. (RMHC NEO) is seeking a part-time Hospital-Based Program Associate to support the Hospital-Based Programs (HBP) at the Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital Family Room. This role involves maintaining a friendly and caring atmosphere for families and children, registering visitors, providing resources and support, ensuring the space is clean and stocked, and adhering to program and hospital policies. The position reports to the Family Room Manager.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 or more years of experience working in social services, classroom, childcare, or pre-school setting.
  • Demonstrate responsibility to uphold HBP policies and procedures.
  • Good communication skills and ability to interact efficiently as a team member.
  • Computer proficiency, including familiarity with MS Office products (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel).

Nice To Haves

  • Associate Degree in Social Services, Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Education/Special Education or Family Studies is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts all activities in a manner consistent with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of the organization.
  • Registers new visitors, or families, and orients them to the HBP location that they are visiting.
  • Helps provide a warm, friendly, and supportive atmosphere for families and visitors.
  • Informs families about the HBP policies and procedures.
  • Enforces policies when needed and offers resources to families.
  • Keeps HBP physical space neat and clean to provide a comfortable environment to visitors.
  • Works with visitors/children on age-appropriate lessons involving healthy habits, positive peer socialization and some school readiness skills when assigned to work at the STAR Center/Corner.
  • Provides each family with take home lesson information “takeaways” and other supporting materials to promote a greater awareness of community resources to help impact future well-being when assigned to work at the STAR Center/Corner.
  • Offers services to families and children by taking the Happy Wheels Cart to hospital areas such as maternity ward, pediatric floor, and waiting room areas.
  • Answers telephones.
  • Maintains statistical records.
  • Provides a satisfaction survey to each family served.
  • Offers resources to families.
  • Picks up and delivers supplies to the HBP as needed.
  • Establishes priorities for managing own work while staying on a focused, efficient path for achieving results.
  • Acts as organizational ambassador and presents a positive image of RMHC NEO.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
